Our History
St. Edward on-the-Lake School was founded in 1959 by
Father Hogan, the first pastor of St. Edward on-the-Lake
Parish. St. Edward is located across from beautiful Lake
Huron in Lakeport, about a quarter mile north of Lakeport
State Park. The emphasis has always been on providing a
Christ-centered environment, where students excel in
academics and grow in faith. We offer Preschool through
Grade 5 with continuing Catholic education at McCormick
Catholic Academy for grades 6, 7 & 8. These students
come to us from a wide geographic area, Port Huron,
Burtchville, Fort Gratiot, Lexington, Croswell, Jeddo and
Yale. Our parents are active partners in education,
providing many volunteer hours. We are full accredited by
Michigan Non-Public Schools Accrediting Association (MNSAA) and have been called “the gem in Lakeport.”
