The warmer weather
finds us “warming up” to a variety of academic subjects
while looking forward to some special activities.
In Science, we
investigated the physical laws of motion, and how they are
evident in nature and the machines we use. Next we learned
to identify many different forms of energy. Experimenting
with light and sound helped us discover how some types of
energy are transferred in waves. Ask us about the
Electromagnetic Spectrum.
In Social Studies, our
focus has been on the great changes that took place
following the War of 1812. As the Industrial Revolution got
underway, factories with their mass production methods,
sprang up, and canals and roads were built for long distance
travel. These changes allowed the country to expand farther
and farther west.
In Math, we are
learning the use the relationship between fractions and
decimals to solve problems. Our knowledge of greatest common
factors and least common multiplies is also making it easier
to navigate through the wide world of fractions.
Last, but not least,
we’ve been working hard all year, and are now looking
forward to the wonderful, upcoming events. The Spring
Program, our class trip, and our “Moving Up Day” are just a
few of the special dates marked on our calendars.
